MathMagic Personal Edition is a stand-alone equation editor for editing any mathematical expressions and symbols with easy-to-use graphical interface and various powerful features.





* What's New (v7.58) - February 21, 2014
  • Changed: File extension of .xml is now automatically changed to .html if HTML header is turned ON from the XML Export options dialog.
  • Changed: SVG file now has a better dimension info: width and height, especially when the Export rate is more than 100%.
  • Fixed: Extended Fences (vertical and horizontal) were not connected in EPS and SVG in some cases.

  • Changed: PNG saving now supports a better Transparency, based on Alpha Channel.

  • Changed: Frame Line thickness now allows 0 thickness to hide the line.
  • Fixed: Font names in the Factory Setting Style were incorrect for some Variable Fences and large Symbols.
  • Fixed: When pasted or inserted from Clip window, the current editor window did not update the equation correctly in some cases.

  • Changed: SVG format now embeds only those used glyphs instead of the whole font to reduce the file size if the font embedding option is turned On.

  • Fixed: Crashed when Factory Settings button clicked in the Import/Export Options dialog.
  • Fixed: Paste as Text did not paste sometimes and it took too long to paste for a large amount of text.
  • Fixed: The vertical height of Leading LSubscript or Subscript fixed when no base character available.

  • Fixed: Pasting Parentheses followed by a ^ or _ script expression in ASCIIMath format resulted in a Large sized box for the main text.

  • Added: SVG (Scalable Vector Graphics) format is supported for a better compatibility with web and other applications.

  • Added: Define Spacing - Negate pane has two more settings: separate Under-hang and Side gap for more control over strike-thru lines.
  • Added: Center arrowed templates added to Vector template palette.
  • Added: New MMaCenturyK fonts family is added.
  • Changed: Equation Clip file(.mmc) is supported in the Open dialog and drag-open.
  • Fixed: The current cursor position was not within the editor window if the equation was wider than the editor window.
  • Fixed: Mouse scrolling was not working if the current mouse point was on an invisible window area.
  • Fixed: MathMagic now does not quit after opening an invalid file.

* System Requirements
  • Pentium or faster
  • Windows XP or newer including Vista, 7 and 8
  • About 30MB of hard disk space for complete installation

* Installation
  • If installing on Windows XP,
    • Download the latest Installer from download page
    • Double click on the installer icon to proceed the installation
    • Launch MathMagic application from Windows menu or from the following location:
      \Program Files\MathMagic Personal Edition\MathMagic Personal 7.x.exe
  • If installing on Windows Vista or newer,
    • Download the latest Installer from download page
    • Right-click on the installer application, and select 'Properties".
    • Double click on the installer icon to proceed the installation.
    • After installation, select MathMagic application from the following location:
      \Program Files\MathMagic Personal Edition\MathMagic Personal 7.x.exe
    • Right-click on it, select 'Properties".
    • Select "Windows XP SP3" compatibility mode, and turn on "Run as an Administrator" privilege.
      (This is to make MathMagic read/write Registry correctly. Otherwise, Registry error message might be displayed.)
    • Then, launch MathMagic Personal application.
Uninstall MathMagic Personal utility will help you remove most of the installed files. But in some cases some installed files may not be removed if used by other application or system.
