MathMagic Personal Edition is a stand-alone equation editor for editing any mathematical expressions and symbols with easy-to-use graphical interface and various powerful features.

  • Fixed: Fixed: crashed on some Windows 7 computers when reading or saving documents

  • Added: For multi-lined equations, Leading and Trailing Line spacing can now be set per each line via Format menu.
  • Added: '^' and '_' recognized in the inline LaTeX conversion when shift-return key pressed.
  • Added: TeX annotation supported when importing MathML from Import/Export Options dialog: MathML pane.

  • Changed: Postscript font name is more strictly checked and missing font error message refined.

  • Fixed: "Convert TeX to equation" command under Edit menu not worked correctly when there was no selection.
  • Fixed: '\epsilon' not recognized in LaTeX.

  • Added: Overprint can be turned ON or OFF manually for each color from Color floating window.

  • Changed: "Save As" dialog now remembers the last saved file format over multiple documents.
  • Changed: MathMagic Installer application is now based on NSIS (Nullsoft Scriptable Install System) installer solution, and fixes the font install/uninstall problem.

  • Fixed: Pull-down palette from Template or Symbol palette bar was not disappeared when mouse clicked on some floating window areas.
  • Fixed: AsciiMath output had multiple spaces between expressions.
  • Fixed: when saving in .mmf format, it was forced to save in .wmf format.

* System Requirements
  • Pentium or faster
  • Windows XP or newer including Vista and 7
  • About 20MB of hard disk space for complete installation

* Installation
  • If installing on Windows XP,
    • Download the latest Installer from download page
    • Double click on the installer icon to proceed the installation
    • Launch MathMagic application from Windows menu or from the following location:
      \Program Files\MathMagic Personal Edition\MathMagic Personal 5.x.exe
  • If installing on Windows Vista or newer,
    • Download the latest Installer from download page
    • Right-click on the installer application, and select 'Properties".
    • Double click on the installer icon to proceed the installation.
    • After installation, select MathMagic application from the following location:
      \Program Files\MathMagic Personal Edition\MathMagic Personal 5.x.exe
    • Right-click on it, select 'Properties".
    • Select "Windows XP" compatibility mode, and turn on "Run as an Administrator" privilege.
      (This is to make MathMagic read/write Registry correctly. Otherwise, Registry error message might be displayed.)
    • Then, launch MathMagic Personal application.
Uninstall MathMagic Personal utility will help you remove most of the installed files. But in some cases some installed files may not be removed if used by other application or system.
