* New Free Equation Editor Launched - MathMagic Lite for Mac
MathMagic Lite is a FREE equation editor, newly introduced to the MathMagic product line:
MathMagic Lite, MathMagic Personal, MathMagic Pro, MathMagic Prime.
MathMagic Lite for Mac OS X is mainly based on the UI and features of MathMagic Personal for Mac, minus some high-end templates and rarely used symbols.
MathMagic Lite for Windows may be available in 2013 but we do not have a fixed schedule yet.
* MathMagic Lite for Android™ released - free equation editor App
We finally have an Android App - MathMagic Lite for Android™.
This is a free equation editor, and available now from the Google Play.
For some screen shots, keyboard layouts, and supported Templates and Symbols, and the download link, please visit

More equation formats will be added later this year including Math-To-Speech and LaTeX.
It also reads most of MathMagic Personal & Pro created equations(.mmf, .png), and vice a versa, if you need to share equation files with desktop users and mobile users alike.
* Feature Comparison Table and other documents
MathMagic Feature Comparison Table now includes
MathMagic Lite vs. MathMagic Personal, if you'd like to understand MathMagic Lite at a glance.

* iOS version behind the schedule
As we hear more and more from you about the iOS version of MathMagic, we would like to update you with some of the current progress.
Although most of the equation formatting engine of the current internal version is working on iOS, we may still need a few more months to finalize the UI, test on a few iOS versions / devices.
We hope to release the first free version, "MathMagic Lite for iOS", mainly for iPad users, sometime early in Q4 this year. We know it's been delayed a few times already. We work hard and thank you for your patience.
Once we have a better schedule, we will share it on our Twitter page.

* CS6 Plug-in to come
Due to recent releases of MathMagic Lite for Mac, MathMagic Lite for
Android, and a few other urgent updates, our InDesign CS6 plug-in dev
schedule could not have a room to squeeze, as CS6 SDK was available at the
end of May. We are going to assign some of our engineering resource to CS6
in July, hoping to deliver MathMagic CS6 plugins within 1 month.
As explained in the product page, all the current MathMagic Pro for InDesign
users who purchased since April 2012, can use CS6 plugin at no additional
cost once available. Thank you for your understanding and patience, if you
already have a copy of InDesign CS6.
For your info, MathMagic Plug-in is not required to insert, view, print, or
re-edit your InDesign equations, as all MathMagic equations are
inserted(embedded or linked) in EPS format. EPS format is natively handled
by all InDesign versions. So you can still use your InDesign CS6 documents
with MathMagic equations even without MathMagic CS6 plugin, although some
features, such as automatic baseline alignment and double-clicking, won't be
available.
* Latest MathMagic fonts
MathMagic v8 for Mac and v7 for Win come with new fonts and revised fonts:
all fonts are now in OpenType format, and they are cross-platform. New
MMCenturyNew and MMCenturyNewRD font families are added for more LaTeX
looking math body text. You can still use your own Math body fonts, or any
of bundled MMTimes, MM(a)CenturyOld~, MM(a)TextBook, ...
But MMVariable font in MathMagic v8.0~8.04 Mac and v7.0~7.04 Win had an
incorrect code mapping. In this case, please make sure to remove MMVariable
and re-install it from MathMagic v8.05 Mac or MathMagic v7.05 Win installer.
MathMagic Windows versions also come with TrueType fonts separately, in
MathMagic Fonts\PDF Fonts folder. These are used only when MathMagic saves
equations as PDF format to embed those used MathMagic fonts.
