MoboMath Brings Handwritten Math
Input to MathMagic and Mac OS X applications
New MoboMath release from Enventra adds handwritten
equation input to popular Mac applications.
Lexington, MA, USA (prMac) November 3, 2011
Enventra, Inc. today announced
that its MoboMath(tm) handwritten equation editor is now available for the first
time to Mac users. The new MoboMath 2.0 Mac OS X Edition has been designed and
developed expressly for the Mac environment.
With MoboMath, users create math
expressions for their favorite applications in their own handwriting using a graphics tablet, trackpad, or mouse.
MoboMath then translates their handwritten input into formatted equations that
can be copied to the user's target application for calculation, graphing, or
technical documentation. By entering math expressions in their own handwriting,
users bypass the keyboard and palette input that would otherwise be required by
their application.
The Mac OS X version of MoboMath
directly supports Microsoft Word, Mathematica, Maple, MathMagic, MathType, and
products like iWork that use MathType as an equation editor. With MoboMath's
MathML, TeX, and image support, users can also create expressions for a broad
range of other standards-based applications.
"The new Mac version has given
us the opportunity to rethink, redesign, and refine MoboMath to improve the
overall user experience," explained Terry Rochford, President of Enventra. "The
Mac edition of MoboMath offers a streamlined user interface and a variety of
new or simplified features that were not available in earlier Windows versions."
"In the past, MoboMath has been
a popular add-on to MathMagic for Windows," said Charles Lee, CTO of InfoLogic,
Inc. "We are pleased that handwritten math input will now be an available
option for our large MathMagic for Mac user base as well."
"I have created expressions for
both Maple 15 and Mathematica 8 using early versions of MoboMath for Mac OS X,"
noted Saeed Rashid, an independent research professional. "I plan to use the
new version regularly in my projects. MoboMath is very easy to use."
MoboMath is available exclusively
through the Mac App Store. Special introductory pricing is in effect through
November 29, 2011.
More information about the Mac edition of MoboMath is available on the Enventra
